Five Little Monkeys...

My cousin, Angie, was in the Lancaster area, so we were able to get together for a short time. Though our day didn't go as planned, it was still great to see her and her children. They are great! The youngest, Nate, was born on Meghan's due date, and she was born on his. Alex and Niyah seemed to really enjoy entertaining Meghan. Since we were all in a hotel room we needed entertaining! It was a wonderful day connecting with Angie! I actually taught at her school during her senior year, but it's been through email and the blogging world that we've really gotten to know each other as adults.

What fun we had visiting our cousins.
Five children in a hotel room makes me think of a song. Meghan loves the song Five Little Monkeys. Her favorite part is shaking her finger at the, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!" She often says, "no, no" when she sees monkeys.

Here's the song in case you don't know it.

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and hit his head
Mama called the doctor and the doctor said,
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

Check out this site for the rest of the song, motions, coloring pages, and finger puppets!

Horsing Around

Posts are so much more exciting with pictures, so here is one from earlier this month. We were at a friend's house for a Sunday school party, and the gracious family took the children on pony rides. Meghan loved it. Meghan isn't the least bit scared of large farm animals, probably because when we visit Great Grandma and Grandpa J., she gets to go to the barn and see the cows. Evan is still waiting for his first trip to visit the cows.

A friend recently taught me a little song that Meghan enjoys since she is such a thrill seeker. Sing it while your child is facing you on your lap bouncing.

Horsey, horsey carry me
Over land and over see
When you're tired and need to stop
Then let the rider DROP!
(Open legs to drop child a few inches)
