Family Visit and a Funny Story

This past weekend Dad, Amy, and Indigo came for a visit. It was a great visit!

Those are the posed pictures. Now...I have a story for you.

Once upon a time Aunt Amy brought a fun hyper disc toy and kites for the children to use during our visit. The wind was shaking the house (or close), so Amy understood it was too windy for us to play outdoors.

The wind gusts became slightly less as the day passed. Aunt Amy REALLY wanted to play with the hyper disc. She asked if it might be okay. Being the younger sister, I knew she wasn't going to take no for an answer. I told her she could try if she really wanted to.

She wanted to...even if the disc wasn't exactly controlled. I could hear Amy laughing loudly, so I knew it was going a little wild.
They were playing very close to the house.
 The kids really enjoyed it.
They also enjoyed chasing it! Thankfully the kids know how to hop our fence. Thankfully the hill was there to stop the hyper disc from going over the trees...
I was washing dishes while this was going on. I could hear Amy laughing and laughing, so I went to the door to watch. And LAUGH. I didn't even think to get video of it, but it would have been even better.

Do you think she learned a lesson? Maybe...but if you ask her to use the hyper disc on a windy day, I think she'll do it!

Baltimore Aquarium

On Good Friday, we went to Virginia to spend the weekend with family. On the way, we stopped at the Baltimore Aquarium. We all enjoyed it, though it exhausted the children.

Evan saw this picture of a Blue Footed Booby Bird from across the room and recognized it. He also knew its name. The children were all excited to get a picture with it. Thanks to the show, Octonauts.

Lunch revived the kids so only Esther napped on the way to Virginia. I may have napped for a minute, too.

Easter 2015

We decided to visit Derek's brother, Brandon, and his family for Easter this year. The bonus was (great) Grandma and Grandpa J.,Grandpa W., and Donna were all able to go, too.

The children got along fabulously. The adults enjoyed one another's company. It was a great weekend. We went to church on Easter in a tent that held 3,000 people. With the focus on Jesus' death and resurrection, we didn't mind that it was different than we are used to. (The children were in their own age-appropriate classes.)
(And yes, those are little bangs that Meghan gave herself. It isn't the first time she's cut her own hair. Not even the second...)
