A Few Moments

Grandma E. and Meghan in the play house!
Just call the little one T.R.O.U.B.L.E.
Later that day we went to the park to visit friends.
This one got really dirty, though the picture doesn't show ALL the dirt on his face.  It's only obvious around his mouth, but his cheeks and forehead had a nice brown shine.
We have been busy, but enjoying ourselves.

Flag Football!

For the past six years Derek has participated in our church's Upward sports ministry, mostly as a referee for soccer and football.  Now he gets to coach, too!

This is Meghan's first experience with flag football.  She was excited at the thought of playing football, though I suspect in the future she will choose cheerleading instead of football.  Who knows?!
Meghan is the only girl on the two kindergarten teams.  Thankfully she knows one boy on her team and at least one boy on the other kindergarten team.  (The community has responded very well to the Upward sports, and that is why she does not know many of the players.)

Meghan plays pretty well.  She grabbed at least three of four flags that I saw.  The coach (or assistant coach) plays quarterback, as seen above.

(I actually have a few nice pictures, but there are so many children in them that I am not comfortable posting them without permission from parents.)

Esther spent the hour long game eating.  She didn't stop eating Cheerios and Puffs the whole game.  She was asking for more (with signs) as the game was ending and all the food was gone.  Whew!

Evan spent the game with Esther and me.  He watched the game a bit, but spent a good amount of time playing with Esther.

Busy...

We've been a bit busy around here.  School began in August, and the kids still love it.  I'm so thankful for that, because every day I have to wake Meghan up at 6:15.  If she didn't like school, I don't know how I'd get her out of bed.

The weather here has finally turned to a more tolerable humidity and temperature.  That means we spend more time outdoors.
Sometimes I get distracted by bugs.  This little butterfly (moth?) is on a clover flower.   The bees really like the clover near the blueberry bushes and swing set, too.  They are much harder to photograph though!
Esther likes to eat.  (NOT drink.)  Specifically, she likes to eat "real" food, and prefers to feed herself.  At this point she gets eats what we eat for dinner, unless it is quite processed.
Evan just cracks me up some days.  How do you like his tool belt?  His imaginative play is amazing, even when he plays by himself.  Oh, that head tilt...all him.
Meghan loves school.  She has always been eager to learn, and apparently is not bored at school.  Sunday was our church picnic, and Meghan had her face painted there.  She was especially excited about the blue lips.
Oh, we went to the dentist last week.  Meghan has THREE wiggly teeth!  EEK!  Thankfully they are not super wiggly.
